"OK, so we're breaking in an ancient old mansion that has 4 lethal threats within it... how do you usually break in?"
"Simple! I fly in, break through the library, and steal as much as I can before they chase me down, ze?"
"Are you stupid? It's almost like they're letting you do it. Hold on, I have something that should
take care of them."
It was sleeping gas, the same gas that was supposed to be used for
a contract I had to rob the Golden Grin. The original function of this gas was to put the camera room guards to sleep, and my crew would sneak down to the vault, grab
The Dentist's loot, and the money.
"What else do they have?"
"Fairies, devils, and goblins. Ze, I think that's what they have in there..."
"Are they immune to gas?"
"No..?"
"Great, what else, you said there was a
time stopping, knife throwing maid,
two vampires, and a
Chinese lady. That's what the sleeping gas is for, an odorless, colorless agent to make everyone in that mansion go nighty-night for at least 10 minutes. I'm still doubting if it'll work on vampires though..."
Breaking into giant mansions and robbing vampires wasn't my gig, like at all. Smashing banks, casinos, and other various compounds were. Assuming Marisa's intelligence was right, I would need to bring sleeping gas to put 2/4 of the lethal threats to sleep. Along with nearly everyone else. To deal with the vampires... I was hesitant to put my brass knuckles on lethal mode or actually hurt someone as I've done it too much during my
criminal career. I had my specialized handguns, but it was only a last resort. I also brought gas masks, blowtorch, C4, flashbangs, smoke bombs, and weak incendiaries as an emergency tool.
Marisa wouldn't be the
first woman that I can mentor into being a highly skilled burglar. So I taught her everything I knew. Bribing the right people, casing the place, getting favors done by insiders, intimidating civilians, knocking out guards, avoiding cameras, destroying evidence, stealing as much as possible, and escaping without having the cops on our ass.
After hours of planning our burglary, a plan was finally executed. I would preemptively find a blind spot in the mansion and the drone would automatically fly, highlight anyone, and in general, keep tabs on everyone in it. I never used this drone before for my stealth jobs, but judging by contracts like
Murky Station and
Breakin' Feds, there should be a guard pattern.
Of course, the chance for Plan B always exists, so if the vampires caught us, incendiaries and an implanted water cannon in my suit should do the trick, if the maid caught us, flashbangs and gas should be able to disable her, along with cable ties. If not, then maybe threatening to burn down the mansion would. Marisa told me the maid is still human. If the librarian caught us, I would exploit her asthma and use weakened pepper spray to trigger her asthma.
All of those were dirty underhanded tactics to survive, but I've done much worse things in the past. Just ask the people that I cheated out of their life savings in Golden Grin, or the
jewels I)

the banks that)
I had robbed. Under the cover of night, with my drone inside the mansion highlighting everything, me and Marisa were on the roof, grappling onto the mansion and finding our entry point into the library. I waited to see if my drone marked anyone asleep after releasing the gas, and there it was, the maid fell asleep, the librarian, the Chinese lady, and the fairies and other useless security guards.
"Ahh bollocks! The vampires aren't fucking sleeping. Bloody hell."
"What do we do now? Ze?"
"You have your mask?"
"Ze."
After getting on top of the library's tower, I found a skylight leading down to what seems to be a library. I tried lockpicking, but for whatever reason, I just couldn't get through. Using the blowtorch, I loosened the lock enough to be able to lockpick, but I had to be careful, if that thing fell onto the floor, Plan A will turn into B faster than my trigger finger when I found The Rat.
Opening the skylight barrier, and having information from an insider that there are devils inside there, I prepared smoke bombs to cover our location. I padded my smoke bombs to reduce the bouncing sound that would inevitably be heard when I threw them down.
Marisa was going to fly in with her broom, like all witches, but I was going to parachute down with the equipment. I wasn't going to risk adding extra weight until we successfully robbed the library, because I can't fly.
Jumping in, masks on, nobody has woken up yet. Good, but I feel like that sleeping gas wasn't going to last for more than 10 minutes. So we were going to work with 7 minutes stealing books, and 3 minutes to GTFO. Dropping smoke bombs in strategic locations, me and Marisa were down in the library, next to the sleeping librarian.
"Librarian's pretty hot. If I've gotta say. Hate robbing her. But I would
rob her."
"I rob her daily, ze!"
I took out a timer and the loot bags and Marisa started shoving all the books she wanted into them. 1 minute, 40 seconds elapsed after we last set down the gas. 5:20 left to go, or so I originally thought... noticing movement from the maid, going over to our general location, I warned Marisa that we had only 30 seconds to go before Plan B arrived.
This song played in my head and it gave me flashbacks to the
Shacklethorne Auction.
"Marisa... hurry up with those books, I sense movement to our location!"
"That's all I need today! Let's do this tomorrow!" she shouted.
OK, there was no way in Hell the maid or the vampires could not of heard that. Unless they were deaf or completely stupid, someone was fated to check that sound.
"Patchouli... is everything alright in there?"
Marisa, doing her best impression, tried lying, "Yes Sakuya. Everything is fine and dandy."
"You sound weird, what's wrong?"
"Oh goddammit!" I yelled, "I'm shutting down this operation!"
"Wait, what operation?!!"
Grabbing Marisa by the arm and the loot bags, I placed her on the broom, sat on it with the loot intact, burnt the parachute, threw smoke grenades at the voice's location, and we flew out of there as fast of possible. Granted we were probably going to get caught regardless, but leaving behind weak evidence of our burglary was much better than having to silence a witness, or two.
Flying at high speed, I saw a bunch of knives getting thrown. I managed to catch and deflect a few of them, but Marisa was hit and lost control of her broom temporarily, I still held the loot, but experienced flying fast upside down. Now I feel like those poor bastards who are peer-pressured by their friends to try those giant roller coasters at some overpriced amusement park.
Paying attention to the speed and direction of the knives being thrown, I returned fire with 2 flashbangs and used my brass knuckles to summon lightning and chain it through the knives, in hope of stunning the maid, or at catching her off guard.
Flying over Marisa's house. I threw her the loot bags and made way to Alice's house. Told her that she's going to need way more practice to be a burglar that can terrorize an entire country. Truth be told, she was much better than Clover when I first taught her my skills, but unlike Clover, Marisa lacked discipline and deceptiveness.
Punching my way throughout the Forest of Magic and snapping the neck of plants, I encountered the maid. She probably didn't know that there was a 2nd one, so she asked, "
Excuse me Mister. Mister? Have you seen a witch flying quickly throughout the sky. I need to have a few
words with her."
Acting surprised and giving a false impression
of shock. I replied, "No," and she let me go after that. I walked back to Alice's place without any more problems and saw that Alice was opening a portal to Makai.

We bring more content and fixes to the game we all love. So suit up and join the fray as we once again put on our masks; let's head south of the border to hunt murkies.
Outfits system A new cosmetic Outfits system is introduced in PAYDAY 2 with this DLC. In addition to selecting a mask of their choice, players can now also select an Outfit from a selection in their inventory. Outfits are clothes that the character wears below the neck and are selected in the same screen as armor.
Improved UI The general UI and menus have been given an overhaul and streamlined to make things more efficient and easier to navigate. This also, of course, includes added elements for managing the new outfits system.
Outfits In addition to the outfits system itself, the following outfits are made available in the Silk Road update: Silk Road update (free) outfits:
- Tactical BDU
- Raincoat
- Scrubs
- Winter Camo Parka
- Tuxedo
- Murkywater Uniform
Community Safe 8 Alongside the update, a new community safe is added to the drop pool. The safe contains 16 new weapon skins from the Steam workshop to customize your loadout with. It will have the same drop chance as all other community safes.
Border Crossing Heist DLC The Payday Gang’s enemies, Murkywater and the Dentist, are moving money and illicit merchandise from the US to Mexico through a tunnel across the border. The Gang gets wind of this and formulates a plan. While some Payday Gang members are off rescuing Bain, others will travel to Arizona to hit Murkywater and the Dentist.
Tailor Pack 1 DLC Tailor Pack 1 DLC outfits (each of these has 5 color variations, for a total of 20 outfits):

Upcoming changes
We’re working on making it so Stat Boosts and Team Boosts can drop as weapon modifications via the card drop as well as by performing monthly side jobs. This means that Stat and Team Boosts are available both by playing and through the Steam Marketplace.
These weapon modifications can only be added to weapons that have no previous Stat or Team Boost, and a different Stat Boost depending what weapon you add the weapon modification to. These weapon modifications can't be traded or sold.
We're currently testing this internally and our goal is to let you guys try it out on the 17th of December.

Updated Main Menu Open Beta is now live
The Main Menu in PAYDAY 2 has looked the same since the game was released in August 2013. Since then we’ve made a lot of changes to the game but many user interface elements have remained the same. We’ve previously changed the player inventory and have received a lot of positive response. We’re now looking to update the Main Menu and are looking to hear your feedback. The Updated Main Menu Open Beta is now live and available in the QA branch. If you’ve never participated in an Open Beta, we explain below how you do:

Stealth heists ranked least favorite to most favorite.
I've recently become addicted to stealth in Payday 2. I just grinded through an entire infamy level just through stealth heists alone. Just because I'm in the mood, I'm going to rank all of the stealth heists in the game, least favorite to most favorite. Feel free to comment your own lists as well.
Before I begin, let me say a few things:
- I'm on PS4, so I can't comment on GO Bank, Scarface Mansion, or The Yacht Heist. Feel free to include these in your rankings, though.
- I am counting Ukrainian Job and Jewelry Store as the same heist, due to the obvious similarities. Also, I'm not listing Art Gallery as it's own heist, as it is essentially Day 1 of Framing Frame.
- This is obviously only my opinion, and there are a few heists that I personally do not like, although I can see why others WOULD like them. So don't be triggered if your favorite stealth heist isn't number one.
20 - Four Stores
There's nothing inherently offensive about Four Stores, I just don't find it particularly entertaining to stealth. Let's face it, on the rare occurrence that you are gonna play Four Stores, you're more than likely going loud. Stealthing isn't typically ideal (particularly without a camera operator to take out), and I figured I'd put it at the bottom.
19 - Diamond Store
A rather simple, do-it-in-your-sleep affair, Diamond Store is easy, quick, and painless to stealth... the only problem being the low EXP and money payout. Granted, these simple heists (Diamond Store, Four Stores, Ukrainian) are here for a reason - they're noob friendly heists that'll help newer players become more familiar with the stealth mechanics. However, once you've reached a higher level of expertise with stealth, these heists become more forgettable and pointless (Ukrainian aside, we'll get to it in a second).
18 - Transport: Train
Now, if you like this one, that's fine - I just personally do not like it. Moving all of the loot takes a lifetime, there's too many guards to worry about, and I can never seem to do well stealthing this one no matter how hard I try. I typically avoid this one. I completed it once, that was enough for me.
17 - Big Oil
Ugh... I've always had a vendetta against this heist, ever since Payday 2's launch. I hated it on PS3, and I hate it now. My hatred for this heist has transitioned an entire CONSOLE GENERATION for crying out loud. Okay, enough ranting. Day One is actually not that bad for stealth, and Day Two is... doable. I just don't like Big Oil... never have, never will. It's tedious having to not only find random clipboards littered around a gigantic house, you also have to memorize every detail on every one of those clipboards. Then you have to open the lab, hope no one sees the open lab (and they always see it within five seconds for me) pick the right engine under significant stress, then wait for the helicopter to take fifty years to show up, etc. I just can't stand it. If you like it, that's fine. But MAN, I don't like Big Oil.
16 - Nightclub
Not much to say, really. Another basic stealth heist that you do once every few months just to remember that it exists. Definitely not bad, but there are much better stealth ventures available to you, at least in my opinion.
15 - Golden Grin Casino
Now this is the point in the list where I don't necessarily dislike the heists, they're just not quite as good than others. Golden Grin Casino is great in concept (I love Ocean's Eleven, highly recommended movie), but most of the objectives in this heist feel like filler, just meant to pad out the time it takes to complete it. Not to mention the completely ridiculous amount of loot you have to move from one end of the map to the other, which takes an obnoxiously long time. Now, it's not BAD. I still play it every now and again, and I can enjoy myself. But as far as my personal ranking goes, it's lower on my preferred stealth heists.
14 - Firestarter
Firestarter is my personal favorite of the base-game Payday 2 heists, and my favorite three-day heist as well. However, I much prefer going loud on this heist than stealth. Day One stealth... enough said (screw the thug hive mind). Day Two and Three are definitely entirely doable in stealth, but my preferred playstyle for Firestarter is almost always loud. Just my personal preference. Day One is tedious and nearly impossible, Day Two is nothing special stealth, and Day Three you can literally just do a Bank Heist to get the same experience. So overall, not one of my favorite stealth heists.
13 - Hoxton Revenge
Not a bad heist by any means, just not one of my favorites. The map feels a little claustrophobic for my tastes, and the heist as a whole is rather unremarkable to me. I run Hoxton Revenge occasionally when I'm in a very specific mood for it, but otherwise, I usually don't play it often.
12 - The Big Bank
When going loud, The Big Bank is quite possibly my absolute favorite loud heist in the game. Stealth-wise... ehhh, not quite as good in my eyes. It's very RNG dependent, which means it's either medium difficulty, or very hard and frustrating. This is probably just me, but I see The Big Bank stealth as the "heart-attack simulator," because I am so frequently on edge and stressed out beyond belief when trying to stealth this one. This is one of the few heists in the game that feels easier with more players, soloing is HARD on this heist. Overall, it's okay, but I MUCH prefer the loud variant.
11 - Ukrainian Job
A quick and easy heist that has stood the test of time since launch, Ukrainian Job is my personal favorite of the "simple" stealth heists. Anytime I'm on a time constraint and I want to get a heist done quickly, Ukrainian Job is always my go-to. It's also a great heist to start with when starting on a fresh new Infamy level. Overall, I really like Ukrainian Job. It's still rather low on the list, but it still holds a special place in my heart. Love you, Ukrainian!
10 - Car Shop
I used to dislike this one heavily, but I've recently actually started to like it quite a bit more than I used to. It's a bit RNG dependent where the manager is concerned, but other than that, it's a relatively painless stealth experience. The only hard part is driving the cars. The controls (at least on console) are FREAKING HORRIBLE. I've gotten used to them, but the cars control like the wheels were lathered in Vaseline before you started driving. Also, the EXP and money is rather poor. It's definitely not a bad stealth heist, though. A good "warm-up" stealth heist, for sure (to quote Locke).
9 - The Bomb: Dockyard
Despite the rather bland and unremarkable location of the heist, I do rather like this one. It's not ridiculously hard, and I gives quite a nice payout as well. The guard patterns are easy to track, objective locations can be easily accessed, and once the Moretta has docked, you're pretty much home free. I run this heist fairly frequently, and it's overall a very good stealth heist. Nothing amazing or out of the ordinary, but still good.
8 - Framing Frame
The quintessential stealth heist at launch, Framing Frame has always been a solid heist overall. Day One is the perfect level of challenge, while also remaining fair and rewarding patient heisters. Day Two... basically doesn't exist in stealth, so we'll ignore that one. Day Three, while quite challenging, is quite fun and entertaining, even if the living room vault spawn is COMPLETE CANCER AND SHOULDN'T EXIST. Overall, a great heist, and it gives a rather generous payout as well.
7 - The Diamond
One of the more challenging stealth heists in the game, navigating the labyrinth that is the McKendrick museum is no easy task. Guards littered everywhere, civilians polishing glass cases around every corner. In my opinion, this is a great stealth heist for when you want a proper challenge. This heist takes a heavy dose of patience, while also made easier by the pre-planning. While not for the faint of heart, I really like the Diamond. The puzzle room is just the icing on the cake (I love that puzzle).
6 - First World Bank
Even though true Payday players know this heist can only be played loud (Payday: The Heist players unite!), the stealth version of First World Bank is simple to understand, yet complex enough to be engaging. The objectives don't feel pointless, getting into the vault is complicated, yet simple, taking care of the guards in the vault area is challenging, yet doable. I feel like First World Bank stealth is just the right amount of challenge mixed with simplicity- I love it.
5 - Election Day
One of the easier stealth heists in the game, Election Day is great fun. Day One is a breeze - figuring out which truck is carrying the voting machines is a piece of cake. Once Day One is over with, Day Two begins, which I can basically describe as "Shadow Raid-lite." You enter a warehouse, hack voting machines, then leave. Simple. Maybe it's just me, but I love Election Day. It's a nice and easy way to guarantee some easy EXP and money, and can be easily speedrunned (sped-run? Ehh, one of the two). One of my personal favorites.
4 - The Alesso Heist
Don't ask me why this heist is so high up on the list for me - I just like it a lot. Simple as that. While at first the heist seems quite a bit confusing and daunting to complete, once you've memorized the map layout and the guard pathing, this heist isn't particularly difficult, and is actually one of my favorites. My only complaint would be the pyrotechnics. While it's really entertaining while going loud, in stealth, it's quite boring after the tenth time doing it. Overall, I personally love The Alesso Heist, even though I'm not supposed to (everyone else hates this one apparently).
3 - Bank Heist
Back to basics. Bank Heist is pretty simple to understand - you get to rob a bank. Easy. Stealth is easy, and not overly complicated, but there's just something satisfying about systemically eliminating all of the guards one by one, controlling the civilian population, and then emptying the bank's vault with a saw. Maybe I just like the basic structure of it, but I'm always up for a Bank Heist stealth run. A Payday 2 classic.
2 - Murky Station
Basically Shadow Raid, but not quite as stylish. Still, fantastic fun. The heist plays like an elaborate puzzle - you have to find four items (keycard, blowtorch, thermal paste, and a hard drive) to be able to access the four trains spread throughout the trainyard. Find the trains, empty them of their contents, then leave. Murky Station is always entertaining, always easy, and rarely frustrating. The ONE problem I have with it is the tediousness that comes with moving hordes of bagged loot through the basement, then up the stairs, then up the ladder, then up more stairs, then into the van... ugh (the boat escape is much better imo, I wish you could choose between the two instead of it being RNG). Besides that, a fantastic stealth heist.
1 - Shadow Raid
Could it be anything else? Shadow Raid is easily the best stealth heist in the game, without a doubt. A plethora of options in how to extract the loot are presented to you, and
almost all of them are actually viable. Throw all of the loot into the fenced in area out back, then move the loot to the waterfront dumpster? It works. Use a zip line to deliver all of the bags to a nearby boat? Totally viable. Use the thermal paste to gain access to the sewers, then use the sewers as your primary method of loot transportation? Yep, you can do that. The level of strategic depth in this heist is actually unreal, and Overkill has yet to top it (in my opinion). Shadow Raid is my absolute favorite stealth heist in the game, and likely always will be.

Golden Grin OOB Speedrunning Skip Discovery
Hi all!
My team recently uncovered an interesting out of bounds skip on the Golden Grin Casino heist. While screwing around, our friend RenorDrathir (Ren) randomly teleported through the floor of the level. This probably isn’t new to most of you; in fact Basset (Bass) claims it’s happened to him on multiple occasions on other levels. The crazy thing is that Ren found a
specific spot that can cause the glitch to happen consistently. This guide will explain exactly how we used this spot to teleport into the vault in our record-breaking Golden Grin speedrun.
http://imgur.com/mNFhYrX You can actually cause yourself to fall out of the map by facing towards the sofa and crouch-walking off the planter in the Manager’s Office. We’ve called this the Void Glitch.
http://imgur.com/OgyQ1a1 We aren’t quite sure yet why it happens or how it happens, but we think it has something to do with the player collision model and the spacing between the two objects. While trying to walk into the gap from ground level the player’s camera starts spasming.
http://imgur.com/S9jgpxi The Void Glitch doesn’t always work, in fact it usually takes a few tries to get right. When it fails you can sometimes see the player’s camera repeatedly sinking into the floor then jerking back to ground level. This effect can be semi-recreated in other places on other levels, but we have yet to find another spot that actually supports the Void Glitch.
After completing the Void Glitch on Golden Grin, you begin to fall through the world. As there are no other rooms below the Manager’s Office, you will fall until the coordinate level floor, at which you will either a) be teleported to the nearest living player (more on that later) or b) be teleported directly upwards to a point slightly below ground level (if there is a floor below ground level you will be teleported to that height, however you will still take fall damage).
On Golden Grin this solo teleportation effect can be used to strafe-traverse the level whilst falling infinitely, however there are some drawbacks. After much testing we have concluded that there are invisible barriers between the straight-line path from the Manager’s Office to the vault. Unfortunately, this means that (to the best of our knowledge) this glitch is impossible to use to assist in solo speedruns of the level. Fortunately, at the expense of many hours, our team has uncovered and pieced together an elaborate route that allows a player to reach the vault in a coop run.
Because the Archives and Locker Room both penetrate the ground-level barrier, players that fall to the level bottom near these locations will be snapped into the map when they are teleported. Wherever these rooms spawn they will block access to the map behind it. For our run, we used an OOB platform on the side of the map with the pool and tiki bar, and it is required that both the Archives and Locker Room spawn to the right of the Manager’s Office so the path to the platform is unobstructed.

http://imgur.com/EWNdBzj Run aside, this is the only spawn we know of that allows players to access walkable ground outside of the level. The other side of the map has an invisible wall that extrudes from the area near the elevators on the right side of the Manager’s Office. We aren’t sure if there are any holes, we have yet to find any.
The goal is to use the infinite fall-strafing technique to move towards the palm trees by the wall border on the side of the level. There can only be one person in the level; having another person will cancel the movement, and if you and the other person are able to simultaneously execute the Void Glitch you both will be stuck in an infinite fall-teleportation loop until someone goes into custody/leaves the server. Once you are roughly under the palm trees you will be warped to the OOB platform. Be careful to stay away from the sides of the map: it is possible to be inadvertently snapped back into the level near the elevators.
The platform you can access with the Void Glitch (paired with the infinite fall-strafing technique on the good spawn) is a sloping grass area that wraps around the map in a U-shape. Not all of the floor is solid; you can test for floor solidity with your melee weapon or bullets. There is a small hole to the left of the palm trees near the bathrooms in the Casino, we named this the “Hole of Destiny” because it perfectly frames the vault at the bottom of the level.
http://imgur.com/uzoiguQ The rest of the platform wraps around the front gates, and then towards the yard and bathrooms on the other side of the map. If you venture past this it is possible to directly fall back into the map near where the Locker Room should have spawned.
http://imgur.com/rWFTUyE Don’t worry about falling off the map. If there are other living players you will be teleported to them once you hit the level floor. If not, you will most likely be teleported to the OOB platform, given you are semi-underneath it.
Our run only implemented the Hole of Destiny and a small portion of the sloped area near an invisible volume on the other side of the map. When the host was about to execute the Void Glitch, we had everyone else leave the game. This allowed the host to navigate around the side of the level and access the OOB platform. Once the host was on the platform we had another player join the level and walk around the OOB platform until the one player was on one side of the map and the other player was directly across on the other side, with the vault in between them.
This is where things get complicated. While running around the level Bass identified that a player’s camera differs from where other players see the player’s avatar. This is partially visible in a standard heist when a player with max speed skills sprints for a long time. Falling after performing the Void Glitch creates an amplified version of this effect, possibly because the player is moving so quickly. For some reason when a player is teleported from falling out of the level it will appear to other players as if that player is slowly crouch-walking in a straight line from the point at which they hit the level floor to the point that they were teleported to.

Because clients can be modified to allow for fly hacks and instant level-clear cheats, I have come to the conclusion that player movement is entirely client-side. This makes sense, and allows for a unique speedrunning exploit. In our run, as one player falls out of the map and is in that weird teleported-but-other-clients-think-you’re-levitating state, we have another player jump off the map. When the second player is teleported, they fake out the game and make their client think; “Well, the only other player on the server is right here, so I guess I’ll warp to them since my player just fell out of the world!” This results in the second player getting teleported to the first player’s hovering avatar.
Our run does this, with the host being the second player. As soon as the first player is teleported the host jumps and starts getting repeatedly teleported to the first player’s avatar. Because the vault was between the two players, each time the host teleports they will be moved slightly closer to the vault. When the vault is directly overhead, the first player disconnects and makes the host’s client think; “Well, I can’t teleport to this player anymore. Better warp to ground level then!” This happens to be the vault. You will usually end up in the main vault passageway, however it may take some practice to avoid popping into the camera room or one of the vault’s locked cells.

just the right distance from a sofa, allowing player models to glitch out and fall through the map. I don’t know if Overkill will patch the glitch, and I can’t really say that I have a particular stance on whether or not they should patch it. If they don’t then we can go on to find more crazy OOB exploits and turn Payday 2 speedrunning into something more reminiscent of Half-Life 2, where players are constantly clipping through the level and breaking the game beyond belief (personally I think that’d be pretty fun to watch). If they don’t it just means that that isn’t the type of game Overkill wants Payday 2 to become, and I give them props for taking initiative and molding the game to fit the image they envisioned.

Q: What’s your inspiration for doing what you do?
A: I just love video games, this is my dream job. Every day I go to work full of passion.
Q: How many years have you been in the industry?
A: 6 years now.
Q: Are you planning on adding more things from mods, like the restart button?
A: Yea, many of our developers started out as modders. If the feature is good we could add it.
Q: How many Butcher heists can we expect?
A: Depends on the reception from the community. We’ll make the decision based on that.
Q: Could you possibly make an appearance in the game if you haven’t already?
A: We wouldn’t do silly things like that outside of heists like White Xmas. Maybe I’ll be in come next Christmas?
Q: Will the new DLCs be included in the GOTY edition?
A: I honestly don’t know. Both Mitja and me are in the development side of things.
Q: Are there easter eggs in this particular map?
A: Oh, yes. That’s all I’m going to say.
Q: Who came up with the concept of the Bomb heist?
A: The whole team really, it was the first thing we came up with in the whiteboard.
Q: What would your mask look like?
A: Just my regular face but upside down, I’d look through my own mouth.
Q: What are some lines used by the new heister?
A: A lot of Yugoslavian swear words. We wanted to give the heister a Croatian flair.
Q: Tell us more about process of making DLC, where do you take ideas
A: Inspiration is everywhere. We come up with some gameplay ideas and we try to polish them as much as possible.
Q:Will Greta from the series ever make an appearance?
A: Well, it’s a possibility.
Q: If we have the heist bundle do we have to pay for this DLC?
A: I’m not really sure to be honest.
Q: Favorite gun from the new DLC?
A: I really like the pistol.
Q: Is Ilija ever going to be a playable character?
A: I’d have to do the voice acting so definitely not.
Q:Will we get a 7-day heist ever?
A: It’s a possibility, we just need to come up with a good idea. We wouldn’t make one just for the sake of making one.
Q: What do you personally like the most about the maps?
A: I like the Dock because it works well on stealth and loud. The map is very big and the players have a lot of room to get better at the heist.
Q: Who/what was the inspiration for the new heister?
A: Basically the whole studio. We thought it’d be funny to make him Croatian.
Q: Any update on new Infamy levels? it’s been a year.
A: Yeah, the answer is that we can’t say anything.
Q: Rumor has it that Dragan’s actor has robbed a bank, was that a contributing factor for casting him as a heister?
A: No, he was in a couple of Swedish movies. His history is just a nice coincidence.
Q: How much involvement did Overkill had in the making of the Bomb?
A: Just enough to help out. They helped us test the map but they let Lion Game Lion do its own thing
Q: How long did it take to make the heists?
A: They’ve been in development for five-six months. You need to take into account that it’s a new studio, things are being set up and so on. Five months is just an estimate.
Q: What are the steps of making a DLC?
A: We start out by brainstorming and playing with ideas, maybe someone saw a movie, played a game or just had a random idea. Then we spend time whiteboxing, that’s where you make a really ugly level with white boxes just to make things work. Cleaning things up comes last.
Q: What games do you play besides PD2?
A: (Mitja) I play FPSs and 3rd person action games. half-Life 2 is my favorite, I also really like Deus Ex games. (Ilija) My favorite game is either Half-Life 2 or Portal. Lately I’ve been stuck playing DOTA and I hate myself for it
Q: Can we expect more heists coming from outside contrators?
A: Yeah, it’s Overkill and Payday, you can expect anything, anytime.
Q: Will there be more Dentist heists after the Golden Grin? Will Butcher replace him as a main contractor?
A: Well, you can expect anything anytime. There isn’t such thing as a ”main contractor”, we make the heist first and then decide which contractor suits it the best.
Q: Any plans for adding old heists or new animations for, say, lockpicking?
A: We have to wait and see, there’s nothing I can say officially. That’s definitely my favorite answer
Q: Any more maps with a wintery environment? White Christmas was fun even if the white was cocaine.
A: Yeah, why not, maybe in the future.
Q: Who made the HUD? I really like the interaction circle over PDTH’s equivalent.
A: A guy named Carl made the HUD. From what I remember the biggest reason of making the interaction circle a circle was that sometimes bright backgrounds blended too well with the interaction bar.
Q: Favorite mask and gun?
A: (Ilija) I like the sniper rifles, I don’t really have a favorite mask (Mitja) I really like the Lion’s Roar.
Q: Are we going to see five-man heists?
A: Umm, I don’t know, we could probably do it but it’s not likely. Then again, anything can happen
Q: Will you ever make an April fools event?
A: That’d be cool, actually. We might, we have an office full of trolls.
Q: Will Overkill or Lion make more gauntlet-type heists like Heat Street and Green Bridge ?
A: Sure, if we come up with good ideas. Hoxton breakout is pretty much a gauntlet.
Q: How long can Overkill put out new content?
A: At least until 2015 or 2016? A long time, as long as people keep playing we keep making.
Q: What happened to the hector heist ”bring me the head of....”
A: Someone has been digging through the game files. It’s one of the heists we didn’t finish because it wasn’t good enough.
Q: What can expect from DLC made by Lion game Lion?
A: More chaotic and crazy things, with a Balkan touch.
Q: How soft is Almir’s beard? Is it bulletproof?
A: It’s pretty tough, but not quite bulletproof. But it is pretty.
Q: What are your thoughts new heister and working for the Payday gang?
A: Working on PD is amazing, it’s a game I really like to play. I’ll do my best to make awesome heists for you in the future. Not what he was asked but oh well.

A: Hmmm. YES! It’s blue.
Q: Will we ever get a public release of the map editor?
A: It’s something we want to do in the future. I’ve said it before, but we really can’t say when or how. We really want to make it happen one way or another.

A: Yeah, sure.

A: We’re a studio based in Croatia, we thought it’d e a nice little touch.
Q: Will there be some movie/book heists like Ocean’s Eleven?
A: Yeah, we always use movies -or whatever people encounter- as inspiration. Movies definitely are a big inspiration. I don’t know about that specific movie, but sure.

A: I didn’t choose sniper life. Sniper life chose me. The lines were recorded in a mini-bedroom at like 4 in the morning.

A: I and [someone else] played with the idea quite early on. It is a coop game, let’s make a real coop puzzle. We’ve had some ideas about 4-person puzzles, too.

Q: What was behind the decision of going from larger PDTH heists to smaller heists in Payday 2?
A: I don’t think the heists are smaller, three days of Rats practically equates to a single, bigger heist. I think it’s just the opportunity to split the heists into days so we can take the players into different locations.

A: Yeah, you need to throw a bag below this bridge and then arrange the flares into a pentagram to summon Satan.
Q: Will the old voice actors ever record new lines?
A: Yeah, definitely. The question is better suited for the sound guys though.

A: We actually talked about that once, an option to turn him off for a hardcore mode might be fun.

A: Standard boring answer: You have to wait. As for the week-long heist, we’ll make one as soon as we come up with a good idea for one.

A: A really good question. The answer is simple, make shit, build a good folio and play a lot of games. Make sure you have something good to show. Nowadays it’s fairly easy to put things on youtube, Steam Workshop and so on. Just make things until you become good.

Q: What level provided the most issues, either through layout or implementation?
A: Framing Frame Day 2. It’s kinda hard to explain, on some levels you just can’t make the tools match the heist. It’s a really shot day too but it took so long to finish.
Q: Was the Bomb inspired by the old PDTH heists?
A: In a way, all of the levels are inspired by Payday: The Heist. We do many thing differently, but in the end Payday 2 is still a sequel.
Q: What’s most challenging aspect in level design?
A: In Payday 2 you have 4 people who can be anywhere, giving feedback to all players everywhere is hard. The coop aspect is the hardest.
Q: Why did you make Train Heist non-stealthable?
